Birth Family
I was adopted as an infant and didn't make contact with my birth family until I was 34.
Carol is my birthmother. She was a 20-year old Reed College student when I was born. She had to drop out of school and returned to Minnesota after I was born. She married and had a son and a daughter. They lived for some time in Ethiopia. Carol is a Cobol programmer and lives in a house she built herself in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Spencer, my birthfather was also enrolled at Reed College when I was born. He died in 1999 after a prolonged illness. Moral of the story is don't smoke. He and his wife had a son.
