This is the scrunchy hat. It looks good on just about everybody. It can be worn like a cloche, or slouched to the side.

Craftsman jacket

Finally I am done! I was just so tired of working on this beast for so long, over a year, I sat myself down yesterday and had a good marathon session that got me to within a couple rows of completing the front edge. Finished it off this morning.

Maddie's Debby Ware Beret

Posted Mon Aug 11, 2008, 17:58 PM by Tracy

My cousin Susie bid on a Debby Ware kit for a baby beret. Susie doesn’t knit, so she asked me to knit this up for her little granddaughter, just four weeks old this week. This is the same baby for whom I made the Autumn Apple Baby Sweater

Autumn Apple Baby Sweater

I timed this to knit the sleeves during our recent trip to San Francisco. I finished the second sleeve right before boarding our flight home. Luckily the yarn is machine washable/dryer-safe, so I could get it washed and dried in time for tomorrow’s baby shower. I sewed on the buttons this very night.

A Scarf for No Reason

Rip and knit, rip and knit, the usual. I started over because I decided the scarf was too wide. If I made it narrower, it would be longer.

I am calling this done. The first thing you may notice is the skirt, or bottom ribbing, is much longer than in previous photos. The sad story is I neglected to measure my vertical gauge and make appropriate adjustments for the yarn shrinking up as well as in. The result was a vest that was a few inches too short.

Purple-Teal Shawl-Scarf

There wasn’t time for an in-between picture, so here’s the final. It has wonderful drape and just enough sparkle. I decided to leave the fringes plain instead of doing fancy knotting. A good decision considering I was finishing this stole Christmas eve.

Stay-on baby booties

Posted Sun May 07, 2006, 12:33 PM by Tracy

When I don’t know what to knit I make Stay-on Baby Booties. People are always having babies and it’s nice to have something at the ready to give them. I’ve been making them for years so I’ve got the directions memorized. I’ve seen the directions published by many knitting writers, but no one ever gives credit to the original author. This irritates me to no end.
