Life’s little irritations

It’s ba-a-a-ack: the mysterious malfunctioning USB port.

A couple weeks ago I pulled my motherboard and spent a dull two hours at Fry’s, only to have them tell me my USB ports were all working just fine. Back home, reassembled, everything worked just fine, all ports were passing data back and forth without delay.

Until this morning.

Once again, my printer, connected by USB, went offline. I just pulled the plug from the port and stuck it back in, then it worked. Annoying, but functional.

On the other hand, my daffodils are in bud and the forsythia is set to bloom. The weather is such that I can wear something other than turtlenecks and I’m considering when I can take off the studded tires.

I’m expecting my new digital camera to arrive today: a Canon Powershot S50. I selected Canon because I like the color quality from a friend’s Powershot camera. I went to the 5 megapixel camera because it gives me the option of high resolution photos for print. And unlike the G5, which E wanted me to get, it weighs less than a pound.
