Lately I’ve been experiencing a bizarre ocular phenomenon. In very low light conditions, such as night (we’re in the city – it can’t get truly dark with all the ambient light), I occasionally see a flash of light on the edge of my peripheral vision, on the right side only. It’s not a broad flash, more like a small bright light zipping up or down a curved strip of light.
At first I thought it was just a reflection off the windows in my car, but then I noticed it even when outside the car. I can make it happen sometimes by turning my head and looking forward. Sometimes it seems to curve over my head.
