All that kvetching about the lack of snow has come back to me. This morning I woke up, looked outside and said, “Snow.”
I looked again. It was snowing. Still coming down. Coming down thick and powdery.
Unlike the rest of my co-workers, I made it to work. I gave them all crap for staying home with their 4×4 SUV behemoths. But after a couple hours and it was still snowing, I decided to bag it and get home before it got dark.
It took a few tries, but I eventually found a circuitous route to a surface street. The interstate was a parking lot, but I thought if I could make it to a state highway I’d be good. I went around a lot of people who were stuck, off the road, or just spinning their wheels. Thank heavens for studded tires.
