Up ‘til now we have had no snow worth mentioning. But it has been cold, almost bitter cold, and dry. What ice we had has sublimated.
The cold is playing old hob with my car battery. I don’t know how old it is, but the battery light flashes when I start up the car. It makes me a little nervous and thankful that we have AAA.
My office closed for the MLK Jr holiday. Just as well, because I spent the entire morning at the dentist. I thought I was just going in for a cleaning, but it turns out they had me scheduled for a crown as well, to cap off the tooth with the cracked filling. We found that tooth six months ago, but I had already tapped out my insurance benefit for the year, so put it off until 2007.
I go in for my cleaning and none of the chair pneumatic tools work. Turns out the cold has frozen one of the lines. At least the compressor was still functioning. A tech got it up and running while I waited in the dentist chair, playing games on my palm pilot.
The dentist drills out the filling and lo and behold, there’s a little channel that is slightly necrotic. What’s another word for channel? Canal. And what do these little tooth channels lead to? Yes, the root. Instant root canal.
The good news is my insurance covers the root canal at 100%. The bad news is I am now tapped out on my insurance benefit for the rest of the year. Nothing else better go wrong with my teeth.
