Why come you don’t call me?

It’s pledge week here at OPB! Yes, that means for barely a week you put up with periodic interruptions to regular programming, asking you to send in your dough to keep the station and all those wonderful programs on the air.

It’s worth it. Pledge week is only three times a year and it beats hearing every 50 minutes that I have a friend in the diamond business.

I was on the phones this morning 6:30am to 9:30am. I’ll be back tomorrow, Tuesday. So call why don’t you? If you don’t talk to me, you can talk to another kind volunteer. Your chance to win a fabulous prize, if you call during a fabulous prize break. Or double your money if you call during a challenge break. At least get a nifty pledge gift if you pledge $60 or more. I’m seriously looking at the canvas tote. Classy.

It’s been a little while since I last volunteered and they’ve changed a few things. No more writing on little pledge forms. Now we are all equipped with G4 laptops (no we don’t get to take them home) and can enter pledges into a nicely (but not perfectly) designed on-screen form. The whole process is much more efficient.

  1. you totally get a gold star for volunteering.
