Christmas is over. The cookies and candy are all eaten up. The wrapping paper is put away. The thank you notes are written and posted. Still, we are left with one burning question.
Who gave us that?
We ended up with an extra present, no label, and no memory of who gave it to us. E suspects me of stealing someone else’s Christmas present. But if it were for someone else, surely it would have a label.
The packaging is large gift bag with a print of poinsettias, stuffed with red and gold paper. The item itself is a medium-sized statuette of Santa astride a reindeer. With wheels. The reindeer has wheels, not Santa. It’s made of resin.
I have no idea where it came from or when it appeared under the tree. Of course, I’d like to thank the person who gave it to us. Or return it to its rightful owner.
